The story of
Kids Rainbow

It happens that a group of European volunteers and some Syrian refugees meet in Gaziantep, southern Turkey, and decide to do something for Syrian children who live in conditions of extreme poverty and illiteracy.

They then together founded Kids Rainbow, a safe and inclusive place, created to offer learning opportunities to Syrian children. Guaranteeing access to quality education for every young refugee is our mission.

To date, we have managed to welcome about eighty children in a small structure, but there are hundreds more on the waiting list.

The Aleppo Soap

The oldest soap in the world

Aleppo soap is a plant product that owes its name to the homonymous city in Syria. It has its roots in history and, among natural soaps, it is considered the oldest detergent, so much so that the first evidence of use dates back to the Babylonian era (2500 BC).

Olive and laurel oil: a winning alliance

Aleppo soap, thanks to the synergy between its two components, has nourishing, vitalizing and restructuring properties, given by the high percentage of fats contained in the oil, which is why it is often also recommended for washing and caring for stressed, dry and brittle hair.

Properties of Aleppo soap

  • It has beneficial effects with respect to inflammatory states and skin diseases thanks to its antiseptic and antibacterial properties.
  • It can be used as a hair shampoo for its ability to strengthen the bulb, nourish the hair and counteract the onset of dandruff thanks to its nourishing properties; it also prevents it from falling, thanks to its ability to activate the microcirculation of the scalp.
  • It is often used by men for shaving.
  • It has important emollient properties for post hair removal.
  • It is an excellent make-up remover, soft and nourishing.
  • If left to act on the skin after cleansing, it acts as a purifying and nourishing mask.
  • It can be used for bathing children and babies. But pay attention to the eyes, which could become irritated.

Not just a cosmetic elixir: the other uses of Aleppo soap

Aleppo soap isn’t just a cure-all that skincare experts like. It is a versatile product, which can also be practical for those who deal with household chores. Let’s see how you can use it:

  • In small quantities, in cupboards or drawers, it performs an anti-moth function.
  • It can be grated and dosed directly into the washing machine as a laundry detergent.
  • Some even consider it a natural remedy for agitation. Do you suffer from nervousness? Smell it deeply for a soothing and relaxing effect. The scent of Aleppo soap is delicate and characteristic and recalls the fragrance of laurel oil, to which many attribute the ability to relax the mind and body.

How to store Aleppo soap and its properties

Aleppo soap should not be closed in a plastic container. Instead, choose a box or wooden stand so it stays uncovered. It is advisable to use the soap within a few months of purchase. It may be helpful to wrap it in a cotton handkerchief to prevent germs from multiplying and to preserve its beneficial qualities.
